Kathryn’s approach to training is grounded in clarity, practicality, and respect for people’s time. She understands that complexity is a part of our industry and that it can be made easier to navigate. She’s a collaborative problem solver with a focus on areas that make the biggest difference to the firm’s operations.
Kathryn focuses on offering structured training and resources around the big practice management topics while offering a strong mix of on-the-job support — coaching, just-in-time training, and immediate fixes. A big part of her role is helping to unlock the expertise already within our firm and creating opportunities to share this widely.
In the technology space, she has worked on large-scale digital transformation projects as well as for software companies, always focused on bridging the gap between customer and technology. She also has expertise in plain language, including in the legal context, and is a regular judge in the New Zealand Plain Language Awards.
Outside the office, Kathryn is a poet who gravitates towards forests, rivers and beaches for walks and camping trips (as soon as September hits, the tent comes out). Having recently moved to Mount Maunganui from the South Island, she’s making the most of the Bay’s sunshine and enjoys checking out the region’s libraries, cafes, op shops, and live music.
