Melanie helps people at all stages of life, from first-home buyers navigating their initial property purchase to those planning their next chapter in a retirement village. She works across family law (dealing with asset protection, separations and disputes) as well as private client and trust matters (such as property conveyancing, subdivisions, Occupation Right Agreements, trusts and succession planning). Her breadth of experience means she can untangle even the most complicated relationship property matters. Melanie guides clients through uncertain and often emotionally charged situations, helping them make informed decisions with confidence.

Known for her approachable and empathetic style, Melanie makes complex legal matters feel clear, manageable and easy to understand. She thrives on supporting clients through challenging times and is valued at CLM for her collaborative approach – always ready to help her colleagues, brainstorm ideas, and foster a strong team culture by joining in whatever activity or event is on offer.

Melanie is a passionate runner and the driving force behind CLM’s lunchtime Run Club. Stand anywhere near our office lifts on a Wednesday, and you might find yourself roped in for a 5km trot, whether you came prepared or not! Melanie has completed five half marathons now and is often accompanied on weekend runs by her young son, who keeps her on her toes as much as any legal file.

Networking is another passion and Melanie founded the Papamoa chapter of BNI which brings professionals and business owners together for a weekly breakfast meeting. When she’s not chasing endorphins or honing her public speaking skills, Melanie enjoys spending time at the beach.
