Rebecca is a Partner who specialises in succession planning, trusts, estate planning and commercial arrangements. She is also a key advisor to Zespri and helps our firm run their complex grower licence auction each year. As a result, she has a great practical knowledge of the kiwifruit sector. Many of her clients are orchard owners seeking advice on succession, shareholder arrangements and leasing, and she draws on her strong background in finance and commercial law to provide pragmatic and practical solutions.
Rebecca’s career has taken her from Buddle Findlay in Auckland to the Magic Circle firm Freshfields in London, where she worked on international finance and restructuring during and after the GFC. She returned home to Tauranga in 2011 and joined CLM, bringing that global experience with her. Her clients value her discipline, empathy and ability to cut through family dynamics to keep everyone focused on what matters most.
In 2021 she became CLM’s first Partner to be appointed while working part-time – a groundbreaking move that has helped normalise flexible pathways into senior leadership. Rebecca sees her role not only as a trusted advisor to clients, but as an example that high-quality legal work and family life can co-exist.
In her downtime, she loves skiing (Ōhau is her favourite field), trail running with friends, biking with her children, and soaking up the outdoors at Mount Maunganui where she lives with her family.
