Fiona is a highly experienced Senior Legal Assistant and specialises in estate administration and trusts. She manages everything from opening estate files and corresponding with executors and beneficiaries, to drafting wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and filing probate documents with the High Court. Clients rely on Fiona for clear, step-by-step guidance, and appreciate how she makes the probate process understandable and manageable during often difficult and emotional times.
She thrives on the precision her work demands, and has a particular fondness for the formality of probate documents – especially the occasional Latin phrase that pops up. Fiona enjoys the history behind wills, seeing them not just as legal paperwork, but as a centuries-old tradition of capturing a person’s intentions. She takes pride in being resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused, and offers an empathetic ear to clients who are navigating complex family dynamics or have just lost a loved one.
Having started her legal career at age 18, Fiona has nearly 30 years of experience across law firms in Auckland, London and Tauranga. In the office, she’s also known for her impressive latte intake – usually more milk than actual coffee – which keeps her energised, focused and ready to tackle new probate files that can appear on her desk at a moment’s notice.
After kissing Auckland’s traffic chaos goodbye, Fiona is now embracing Tauranga’s coastal lifestyle with her partner and young daughter. She likes to spend any spare time at the beach or enjoying a yoga class. She’s a summer person at heart, and loves being by the water to recharge.
