Kate is a Senior Associate with over two decades of experience. 

Kate helps clients navigate the complex world of resource management, environmental, local government and public law.  Kate guides local authorities through plan changes and fast-track processes.  Kate also helps developers manage large-scale projects and infrastructure, and supports private clients with resource consent applications and planning disputes. 

Kate also plays an active role in shaping the law itself. She is Secretary of the Resource Management Law Association’s (RMLA) national committee and also sits on their Bay of Plenty branch committee. Through these roles, she stays at the forefront of law reform, monitors emerging issues, and contributes to submissions on proposed legislation – in turn enabling her to help clients make confident, informed decisions in a rapidly changing legal landscape.

Acting for Western Bay of Plenty District Council in relation to Plan Change 92 which was its enabling housing supply plan change to give effect to the National Policy Statement on Urban Development (NPS-UD)
Acting for the respondent and resolving an Environment Court appeal relating to a Notice of Requirement / Designation for an active reserve
