Tayla specialises in family law, helping clients navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. People can feel under immense pressure when they’re facing separation, trying to safeguard their interests, or are managing grief and family disharmony. Tayla’s goal is to give clients back a sense of control, so they’re actively involved in decisions rather than feeling swept along by the legal process.
She advises on relationship property involving complex trust and company structures, and deals with everything from pre-nups to separations (both amicable and contentious). Tayla can address parenting and guardianship arrangements in the Family Court as well as family violence and protection orders. She is experienced in estate litigation and handles claims for people who are left out of wills, feel let down by broken promises, or where there are concerns about undue influence. She also guides families when a loved one has lost capacity to make decisions for themselves. In all cases, Tayla talks clients through their legal options with empathy, clarity and pragmatism.
In the private client space, she can assist with asset planning such as complex wills for blended families, Enduring Powers of Attorney, trust management and wind ups.
Having joined CLM in 2023, Tayla is deeply involved with many in-house committees and always has her finger on the pulse of what’s going on. She’s also one of CLM’s reps (and Secretary) for Tauranga Young Professionals.
Tayla’s just as busy out of hours and is often found working up a sweat in a tap or jazz class, or rehearsing for a local theatre production. She has been rock’n’roll dancing since childhood and regularly teaches classes at the Tauranga Rock’n’Roll Club.
