Teresa has been a part of CLM’s story since 1988, making her one of our firm’s longest-serving staff members. She blazed the trail for flexible working arrangements in the late 1990s when she returned part-time to a job-share role after having her son – something that was unheard of at the time. She also became the first ‘floating’ secretary, helping to shape our firm’s culture and working practices.
Over the years Teresa has worked in almost every department, giving her a depth of knowledge that makes her both highly adaptable and incredibly valuable. These days she’s the undisputed queen of CLM’s deeds room, ensuring important documents like wills and trusts are securely filed and protected. Known for her ability to put her hand to anything, she also steps in and covers for other Property & Development team members without missing a beat.
Teresa has watched law firms evolve from old-school hierarchies, golf ball typewriters and fax machines to today’s modern and collaborative workplaces. What hasn’t changed, however, is the importance of people. She values the supportive, family-friendly culture at CLM where people genuinely care and look after one another.
Her long-standing nickname of “Dragon” (gifted by an old boss) still sticks, but Teresa is one of the nicest people in the building. As a keen crafter, she knits everything from her own stylish jumpers to personalised baby beanies which she gifts to staff members whenever a newborn arrives. Teresa is also a doting grandmother and a proud dog mum to two daschunds, Flo and Ngaio.
