Kathryn returned to CLM in November 2025 after a break for maternity leave, rejoining our Property and Development team with the same enthusiasm and dedication that made her a valued colleague from day one. She started her legal career in family litigation and private client work before moving in-house with a local authority, where she discovered her passion for property. Kathryn enjoys the fast-paced, outcome-driven nature of this area of law and feels privileged to work within our highly regarded property team.

Today, she guides clients through everything from first home purchases to retirement village occupation right agreements. Kathryn also works on subdivisions and liaises with local councils to navigate the legal aspects of the consenting process. She really enjoys helping clients understand and simplify the sometimes complex legal steps, making the experience less daunting for all involved.

A natural team player, colleagues appreciate Kathryn’s positive attitude and willingness to help anyone with just about anything. She has a gift for reading her clients’ needs, whether it’s soothing the nerves of first home buyers or taking the time to listen and support elderly clients through life’s big changes.

Outside the office, Kathryn is an active member of Omanu Surf Life Saving Club, rowing surfboats and patrolling as a lifeguard in the summer months. She has proudly represented New Zealand twice in surf life saving. When not on the beach, she enjoys sailing and tramping with her husband and young son, making the most of Aotearoa’s great outdoors.
