Chad specialises in all things property – subdivisions, developments, horticulture and farm sales, retirement villages, and local authority work. He also acts for one of New Zealand’s largest group home builders so he’s deeply familiar with the real-world pressures of getting deals over the line.
He helps clients untangle complexity, weigh up risks, and make sure what’s been agreed to is actually reflected on paper – no surprises, no second guessing. Clients appreciate not just his legal expertise, but his knack for making tricky things feel manageable.
With a first-class honours law degree and a background in economics (plus a detour to Belgium to study international law for good measure), Chad’s style is friendly, collaborative, and down to earth. He brings clever solutions to the table – especially when projects involve more moving parts than a Lego set. In 2023, NZ Lawyer named him a ‘Rising Star’ in recognition of his leadership and impact on the profession.
With over 10 years at CLM and his prior experience in the commercial property team at one of New Zealand’s top-tier law firms, Chad is known for his sharp memory and attention to detail – the kind of person who never misses the fine print.
Outside of work, he’s a beach-loving dad of two who enjoys biking and exploring the outdoors with his wife and young boys. He also serves on the board of the Tauranga Business Chamber and is a Trustee of the PMG Charitable Trust.
