Nicola helps property law make sense. She works with developers, large property owners and investors on everything from land acquisitions and subdivisions to estate planning, commercial leasing, conveyancing, and the finance that ties it all together. Whether it’s a home, a commercial building, a farm or a multi-property portfolio, Nicola explains the process clearly so clients know exactly what’s happening and why.

Her approach is straight forward: be kind, be practical, and remember that we’re all people first. Nicola prides herself on being approachable, calm under pressure, and willing to roll up her sleeves – whether that’s solving a legal problem or fixing the office printer. She has a knack for spotting inefficiencies and finding better ways to get things done.

Nicola completed her legal studies at the University of Otago (including a semester at the University of Amsterdam) and has worked at CLM since 2017. She appreciates our firm’s down-to-earth culture, focus on work-life balance, and the great people she works alongside each day.

As a mum of two young daughters, Nicola leads a busy life and is a keen sustainability advocate. She bikes to work from Te Puna or catches the bus several days a week, and cheerfully nudges her colleagues to do the same. She’s also a keen sourdough maker and loves to laugh at herself as much as possible. Her competitive streak can be unleashed without warning, particularly at office social functions or whenever a Monopoly board appears.

Nicola brings the same mix of humour, focus, and determination to everything she does.
