As a Senior Solicitor in the Litigation and Local Government team, I have experience advising on and acting for local authorities and private clients on a range of issues including regulatory and planning processes, consenting, enforcement and prosecutions, and civil litigation.
I grew up in north-west Auckland, but my family moved to Tauranga not long before I moved down to complete my studies in Dunedin (including a year abroad studying at Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands and Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in Mexico).
My practice began at an international law firm in Wellington, in the environment, planning and natural resources space. While there I was involved in litigation matters before all senior Courts, appeared before the Environment Court, and specialised in acting for local authorities in the environmental enforcement space, particularly prosecutions under the RMA and Building Act. I was also co-chair of the Young RMLA Wellington branch.
I now live on a farm in the Kaimais with my family. Alongside spending time with the horses I enjoy reading, painting and learning languages: I speak some Spanish and am currently undertaking a full year level 1 and 2 Te Reo Māori course.
