I joined Cooney Lees Morgan in July 2021 having moved to the Bay of Plenty with my family. I have over 18 years’ experience specialising in resource management law (including three years in the United Kingdom). My expertise covers a broad range of resource management, environmental, local government and public law matters.
I have worked extensively for local authorities in the regulatory and applicant areas including in relation to large infrastructure and development projects. This work also ranges from assisting a Council policy team with its Intensification Planning Instrument (to insert the Medium Density Residential Standards into the District Plan), to advising resource consents teams with day-to-day issues, or acting on Environment Court appeals. I also have considerable experience advising corporate and private clients on consenting and plan change projects, and a broad range of environmental matters.
I am closely following the changes happening in the industry including the reform of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and helping clients stay up to date and be involved in these changes.
I am the Secretary of the National RMLA Committee and also on the Bay of Plenty Regional Branch RMLA committee.
When I am not working you will probably find me walking up Mauao or busy with three young children in the sunny Bay of Plenty.
