Patrick is a Partner at CLM, specialising in employment law, civil and commercial litigation, regulatory defence, health and safety, and coronial law. He advises private firms, publicly listed companies, local authorities, and other significant clients across a wide range of industries including construction, banking, horticulture, shipping, tech and start-ups.

He is often called in when something has gone wrong – whether contractual, interpersonal, or regulatory – and he thrives on tackling complex problems while helping clients make informed, practical decisions. Patrick regularly appears in courts, tribunals and mediations, and has also acted as Counsel to Assist the Coroner at inquests. He is calm under pressure, thinks laterally, and balances client interests with realistic solutions, always asking how a dispute can be resolved in the most efficient, cost-effective, and low-stress way possible.

Patrick holds a Master of Laws with Distinction from the University of Auckland and has published multiple articles in the New Zealand Law Journal.
