I am a member of the Private Client & Trust team and specialise in relationship property and family disputes. After clerking at Cooney Lees Morgan during my university summer holidays in 2013, I am pleased to have returned to the firm six years later.
I have enjoyed the transition into family law, having spent the past four years working as a civil litigator in Christchurch. My experience dealing with large complex disputes has put me in good stead to deal with the family court process. One of my career highlights to date was appearing as junior counsel in the Supreme Court in relation to a complex civil litigation dispute.
I take a pragmatic approach when assisting clients with legal issues in respect of family relationships. My focus is on making the process as smooth as possible, whether it is providing advice to people who wish to protect their assets or assisting with the division of relationship property.
I’m grateful to be working with the supportive family law team here at Cooney Lees Morgan, and my idea of a perfect day would be out on the boat, diving, fishing and enjoying a glass of wine.
Katie is currently on maternity leave.
